The GTS operates as a component of Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker program.
Category A :
In this category, companies experiencing rapid growth and demonstrating a requirement to hire exceptionally skilled talent from overseas are eligible. Employers falling into this category must receive a referral to the Global Talent Stream from a designated partner.
Category B :
Category B is designed for Canadian employers seeking to hire highly skilled foreign workers for occupations listed on the Global Talent Occupations List. These occupations are in-demand, and there is insufficient domestic labor supply to meet the demand. It’s important to note that this list may be periodically updated to address labour market needs
Employers in both categories must adhere to specific conditions regarding the payment of skilled workers. It is mandatory to compensate workers hired through the Global Talent Stream with prevailing wages or higher.”
